2006 Judging

Each entry will be judged by three (3) experienced, randomly selected judges.  Judges will be either published or have completed the (RWA) Judge Training program.

The lowest of the three scores from first round judges will be dropped.   Only the top two scores will be used to determine the finalists.

The entries with the highest total of the scores will advance to the finals. Additional finalists will be added in the event of a tie for third place or fifth place.

Categories with fifteen (15) or more entries will have five (5) finalists.  Categories with fourteen (14) or less will have three (3) finalists.  When there are five finalists, only the first, second and third place will be awarded, the remaining finalists will be identified as Honorable Mention.

Final Round: The combined rankings of two editors will select a winner from the finalists.

Notification: Finalists will be notified approximately October 15, 2006.  All entries will be returned, and finalists will have the option to incorporate any changes to their entry before submission to the final round judge.

Please note:  Finalists are strongly encouraged to include a synopsis of no more than 5 pages with their final round entry.

  • All finalist entries must be returned to the contest coordinator, along with a 9 x 12 SASE by November 10, 2006.

  • Winners will be notified by January 15, 2007.
