1. All entries must have:

  • an original copyright date of 2005, or "First US Printing" date of 2005 as evidenced by the copyright page or a letter from the publisher, and

  • must have been available for sale in the United States sometime during 2005.

2. An electronic book will be accepted as an entry if it is submitted in either perfect bound or spiral bound, galley-printed book form with an ISBN (no 3-ring binders) and evidence of copyright date of 2005 is provided.

3. There is no limit to the number of titles by the same author that may be entered, but each title may be entered in only one category. Books entered in the wrong category will be disqualified. (Refer to Category Definitions.)

4. A separate entry fee is required for each title entered.

5. Membership in any particular writing organization is not required.

6. Entries will be accepted from authors, editors, publishers, agents, readers, etc. - from whomever wishes to fill out the entry form, pay the entry fee, and supply the required number of copies of the title being entered.

7. Deadline for entry is November 30, 2005. Forms for entering your data are available online. After your entry is processed, you will receive an email with your payment ID number (PIN), one per entry, and instructions for paying through Paypal.

Do NOT send books to this address. Books received at this address will NOT be entered in the contest.
If you wish to be notified of the receipt of your entry, please enclose an SAS postcard OR provide your email address.

8. Books Receipt Deadline: Books must be received on or before January 10, 2006. Send five (5) copies of each title being entered to your category coordinator. You will be sent the name and address of your category coordinator by December 5, through e-mail if you give an e-mail address and by snail mail, otherwise. Books received after January 10, 2006 will be returned.

With the books, include a self-addressed, stamped post card worded as follows: (If you have an e-mail address, no need to send the postcard, receipt of your books will be sent to you via e-mail.)

Five (5) copies of <TITLE> were received on ___________________and are now entered in the <CATEGORY> of the 2005 NRCA. These books will not be returned.
